67% PB Rate at Bristol Track Nights #1

Two out of every three athletes who raced at Bristol Track Nights #1 came away with a personal best.
That's 67% across all events on the night, from the opening 3000m heats through to the final 800m. Whether it was a first-time track racer or someone chasing a long-standing target, the format delivered.
Why it works
Every heat had a dedicated pacemaker running to a set 400m split. Athletes knew exactly what pace they were signing up for, and the pacemakers did the hard work of keeping things honest through the middle of the race. No guessing, no going off too hard, just consistent, well-paced racing.
That's the whole point of Bristol Track Nights. We want people to come away having run fast, and a 67% PB rate at the first event tells us the format is doing its job.
Thank you
A huge thanks to every athlete who entered and raced, to the pacemakers who kept things on schedule, and to everyone who stuck around to cheer on the later heats.
Next up: Bristol Track Nights #2
We're back on Wednesday 10th June with paced racing over 1500m (and U12 800m). Pizzarova will be trackside again, and entries are open now via OpenTrack.
