Bristol and West AC could not exist without out our wonderful, hard working volunteers. There are a number of ways that you can get involved and support the running of the club. Take a look at the ideas below, and get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
Athletics competitions cannot take place without timekeepers, judges, marshals and other technical officials. We’re always looking for new volunteers to bolster our officials team, so that we can continue to contribute to the running of events across Bristol and the Southwest.
For parents, this is a fantastic way of supporting your youngsters at events whilst giving something back to the athletics community at the same time. We are so thankful to all those who give their time to enable us to organise competitions and for our athletes to take part in them.
Contact Betti Farkas at Volunteer@bristolandwestac.org for details of how to become a qualified volunteer official, including training courses. No previous experience necessary!
We are always keen to bring on new coaches and can help you go through the necessary training to become a qualified athletics coach. Whatever discipline you are passionate about, we can help you find your feet as a coach and we would be delighted to have you help out at club training sessions.
Whether you want to help out as an assistant to one of our fully qualified athletics leaders, or become a head coach yourself, get in touch, let us know, and find out what the next steps are.
Contact our coaching coordinator Chris Palmer, at email@example.com for further details.

OTHER WAYS TO HELP
HELP US WELCOME ATHLETES AT TRAINING NIGHTS
Do you have time on a weekday evening to be a friendly face on the entry desk at Whitehall track, perhaps whilst a family member is training? Help us ensure everyone knows to have their QR codes ready, where to go and how to pay.
ORGANISE SOCIAL EVENTS
We always need social secretaries! All members are encouraged to organise social runs, meals, drinks and other events. If you’ve got ideas and energy around socials then get in touch!
Photos show off what we can do! We’re looking for budding amateur photographers to take photos at training and competitions so that we can share them on our website and with the media.
RACE REPORTS & NEWS ARTICLES
We produce regular reports and news articles to let our members know what’s going on, and to celebrate our success. Are you a budding journalist with a bit of time to support the writing and distribution of this content?
If any of these ideas appeal to you, or if you can think of any other ways in which you can help out the club by volunteering, please don't hesitate to get in touch and we will be extremely grateful to hear from you. Contact Betti Farkas at firstname.lastname@example.org
