Performances Of The Week

SENIORS

1= JON WILLS and CHARLEY COFFEY - They may not have won any races this week, but they did win one of the most important races in life: getting formally hitched! All who attended last Saturday's celebrations, and our other members too, will join me in wishing them success in this latest of life's challenges. I happen to be the guilty party that fostered their relationship as they first met through our training group. Though not pretending to be a matchmaker, they are the fifth couple over the years that have tied the knot when training with the group! No bets on who might be next!

2 DAVE GREEN - Dave only just failed to win the latest Weston Prom 5M road race when he was outsprinted in a thrilling finish by Clevedon's international vet Julian Emery. In the bitterly cold conditions times were predictably slower than usual, with the winning time outside 26 mins.

3 JON GOODLAND - As none other of our juniors or vets were in action last week, I have promoted Jon, who took the V50 prize in the Weston race, to the senior category this week.

While group training as you all know has been interrupted this week by the snow and icy conditions, we are hoping to reconvene next Tuesday - Keith is posting the details. We will confirm any changes if necessary after Saturday's Boxing Day race at Clevedon as we are both intending to be there in support.
