“Run and become. Become and run. Run to succeed in the outer world. Become to proceed in the inner world.” Sri Chinmoy

Emma Withers reports:

Last Tuesday night saw 18 Bristol and West Junior Boys (u15/u17/u20) arrive at Eastville Park to take part in the Sri Chinmoy 3 mile relay.  What is always a fun night didn’t disappoint and after much deliberation about their team names, the boys lined up, raring to go.

On first leg, Beck Harding Hill (A Team), Tomek Czerepinski (Sweaty Armpits), Cole Edmunds (Team Zoom), Nathan Marchant (Team Last Place), Nick Pestel (Team I don’t know) and Otto Kingston (Injured Soldiers). Beck (4.51) determined to beat last years 2nd overall place, was first back, followed closely by Cole (5.17), Nathan (5.33), Otto (5.35), Tomek (5.42) and Nick (5.42).  The first runners handed over to second leg, Eoin O’Halloran, Misha Evans, Ishmael Bradley, Amos Kingston, Jay Hunt and Fred Cummins.  With much cheering on the side-lines from parents and team mates, Eoin held the front position (5.25), Misha (5.39), Ishmael (5.41), Amos (5.51), Jay (5.48), Fred (6.21).  With the excitement building, the 3rd leg runners waited for their team mates to turn the last corner, feeling the pressure to hold the lead, Jay Akbar set off, followed by Jacob Roe, Jacob Franklin, Will Chapman, Zac Roe and Joe McNamara.  It was great to see such spirit in all the runners, working their way around Eastville Park, in amongst a sea of adult runners. First home, Jay (5.15) Jacob R (5.43), Jacob (6.10), Will (6.12), Zac (6.30), Joe (7.06) all the boys were rewarded with ice-cream whilst the results were processed.
