On Saturday 30th June 2018 we will have five teams of ten runners tackling the 103 miles that is the Cotswold Way along with 113 other teams. If this isn’t the most beautiful running route on the planet its got to be one of them, and in this case beauty comes with hills a plenty.
Our involvement in this race has grown from three teams two years ago, four last year and now the maximum permissible of five. While there is certainly a competitive element, this race is about participation. We have runners from across the spectrum taking part, giving us possibly the club’s biggest adult team representation of any event in the year.
The logistics of this event are considerable for the organisers, the individual teams and runners but now its time to enjoy the run, manage the heat sensibly and get home happy.
The raucous finish of the race is outside the doors of Bath Abbey after the jugglers and fire-eaters have been politely moved aside. The first finishers will be arriving about 6.20ish and then its off to the Bath Pizza Company outside Green Park Brasserie for the prize giving. All runners, followers and supporters are welcome.
