parkrun Report – Saturday 23rd June 2018

For some, Saturday morning’s parkrun was the first half of a 5k double as a prelude to the main event on the track at Yate in the evening. Most of the Club’s parkrunners remaining close to Bristol, one exception being Daryl PHILLIPS who was third at Sittingbourne in Kent with a time of 19:19.

Marie MALLOY was the first female at Ashton Court, with Jane COLMAN and Antonia GOODER occupying the first two places in the VW50-54 category in times of 22:37 and 23:54 respectively.

The Club’s only first finisher was Mark TAYLOR at Wotton, who was adjudged to have achieved the Performance of the Week, with a PB time of 18:98. Jonathan GOODLAND was second in 19:23, also a PB, and Steve GRANT was the first VM50-54 in 21:11.

Dan SCHOFIELD was second at Chipping Sodbury in 18:20. At Pomphrey Hill, Jonathan BENNETT was third in 19:05 and Helen CLARK was the second female in 22:40.

There were some notable PBs with Jay HUNT taking 19 seconds off his with a 19:32 clocking at Worcester Pitchcroft, Agnieszka KAMINSKA ran a 62 second PB at Newport (28:11), Karen WATSON by 63 seconds at Thornbury (26:15) and Fliss RUSSELL by 22 seconds at Eastville Park (26:08).  Pick of the bunch though was Bob COX who took 101 seconds off his PB at Rogiet with a 22:20 clocking.
