This course is suitable for new officials and current officials wishing to gain the official UKA qualification, insurance & licence card.

How many days will it take?

One day, with no assessment. Officials need to attend both modules on the day to become fully qualified.

What will I learn?

  • How endurance officials operate at road and cross country races
  • The requisite skills to be an endurance official
  • Relationships with other officials and athletes
  • The responsibilities of key officials at an endurance event
  • Knowledge and application of the rules of the sport

  • Identification of hazards and risks
  • The Endurance Officials pathway

What will I be able to do?

After completing the course candidates will need to gain four recognised experiences at endurance events, operating under the supervision of a qualified UKA Endurance Official. Recognised experiences should be documented in the ‘Record of Experiences’ to maintain evidence of undertaking a variety of roles and submitted to England Athletics. A DBS check will also be required, following which a Level 1 Officials Licence will be issued. By undertaking further experiences, completing a log book and studying two compulsory modules and one further optional module, Club Officials can progress to qualify as a Level 2 Endurance Official.
