Bristol & West Athletic Club finished three in the first five at the ever popular Clevedon Boxing Day 4 Mile Road Race, with the morning start seeing by far the better weather on what turned into a very wet and windy day.
The race winner was Luke GRENFELL-SHAW in 19:38.7 just in front of former club member Phil Wylie, who placed second in 19:40.3, with Jack MILLAR not far behind in third place in 19:42.2. Miles CHANDLER finished fifth in 20:13.8. Maciej BIALOGONSKI showed a return to form finishing thirteenth in 20:53.5.
Next home in twenty-second place was Steph BARNES, back from Belgium for the Christmas period, in 22:05.7. Steph finished second in the ladies race behind Emma Pallant of Aldershot, Farnham & District (fourteenth in 21:27.9).
In the age groups there were some great results with Jon GOODLAND finishing sixty-second overall and first in the V60 category in 24:36.8 with Peter MOUNTAIN second in the same category in 25:18.9 (87th). Jane COLMAN was first in the F40 category as she finished 108th overall in 26:03.3 with Tracy ALLAN not far behind in 118th place in 26:21.8 to take the V50 category.

In the Young Athletes 3k race there were some good runs from club members with Rufus THOMAS runner-up in 9:32.9 followed by Fenn WILLOUGHBY fourth in 10:04.7 and Jay AKBAR ninth in 10:49.2.
Molly THOMAS finished fourteenth and third in the girls race in 11:44.8 with Alice MATHEWS eighth in the girl’s race in 13:17.9.
