SGS Athletics Academy and Bristol & West athletes combine forces to win SESSA Relay Silver

South Gloucester & Stroud College (SGS) Athletics Academy competed at the Southern England Student Sports Association Indoor Championships at Lee Valley, London on Wednesday 6th December 2017. The highlight was the Men’s team winning silver in the 4 by 200 metres relay in a time of 1:34.86. Tai Jan Deidrich, Cadell Reid, Treay Reid and Mikkel Bassue ran a fine race securing Silver, in the process beating all the University teams. All four athletes are members of Bristol & West Athletic Club. Tai Jan, Treay and Mikkel are all members of the SGS Athletics Academy whilst Cadell is a member of the SGS Cricket Academy.

Mikkel won Silver in the 60 metres with a time of 6.94. Mikkel has overcome adversity this year after the devastation of the hurricane in his home country of the British Virgin Islands. He has great maturity and has shown all the qualities of being SGS Student of the Year.
