Gwent League – Report on Paul Owen’s Group

04 Dec
It’s quite a long way but what a lovely place. Many of our girls could not make this one, but despite that I feel all the girls put in a great effort today, every – single – one.
Under-11 – Ruby Claridge ran this as the only Bristol and West runner and noticeably pushed herself in her third race to finish forty-third, having finished seventy-third then sixty-sixth – shows the improvement with each race she is making.
Under-13 – A blistering start and a strong team finish sum up today’s race with Clementine Houlden steaming home in sixth place, Molly Thomas who has missed quite a bit of training of late through illness worked her way through the field to finish in eleventh place, Carmen Chance getting back to her best sprint finished to seventeenth, Jolie Hoffman who has also missed training of late was our fourth scoring member in thirty-seventh and our talented new runner Katherine Beech ever improving in thirty-eighth.
Under-15 – Claudia Spice tracked the currently unbeatable Dalis Jones for at least half of this race and was looking good in second place, despite tiring a little at the end Claudia should be please with fourth place showing that her recent blip is behind her. Danni Sinclair actually was behind Claudia on this occasion and did well to secure another eleventh place despite having been ill earlier this week, Grace Claridge continues to show improvement and a cracklingly strong finish with twenty-third position then Jemima Dutton ran her best race of the season for forty-fourth and complete the team scoring.
Under-17 – Sadly no Under-17 ladies today.
Well done to all today, you really did make me feel proud.
Paul Owen
