Could You Talk About Your Running Experiences? Volunteers Wanted

I am looking for runners who would like to talk to other runners about their experience of running, be that training for a particular challenge/event, how they got into running, how running with a club supports them etc.

I’m looking for people who have taken on running despite thinking they would never run, or who love endurance events, have set themselves a personal challenge be that a 5k or a marathon. No story is too insignificant.

I am organising a fundraising event to raise money for my Son’s Scout group as they are sending out young people to Nepal to run a jamboree for 250 local children. Our Young leaders will be organising all the activities and part of their fundraising is to raise money to support these local children to attend the jamboree.

My vision for the evening is to have a variety of speakers presenting for 10-30 minute slots. I’m also seeking local businesses to support the event by donating items to a raffle. There will be refreshments. We will charge a small ticket fee for attendees.

The event will take place on either Wed 31st Jan or Wed 7th Feb at a venue in or around Westbury on Trym, Bristol (details tbc asap!).

As this is a charity event I will not be able to pay for speakers or cover costs.

I would love to hear from you and hear your stories. I am envisioning a really supportive audience of fellow runners and as you know we LOVE to talk about our running!!

I look forward to hearing from you,
Michele Hurst hurstmichele@blueyonder.co.uk
