The Women’s 4 x 400 metres relay team were a part of the UK rush that saw them collect four medals (a gold, two silvers and a bronze) in the relays on the last two day’s of competition at the World Athletics Championships in London from 4th to 13th August 2017. Emily DIAMOND followed up her Rio 2016 success by anchoring the team to a silver medal behind a dominant USA team (3:19.02). Running the anchor leg, Emily took over from Eilidh Doyle in second place and went out hard to establish a good cushion between herself and the Polish Athlete which she maintained to the finish as the team recorded 3 minutes 25.00 seconds. This is Emily’s second global relay medal and surely cements her position as a mainstay of the Great Britain & Northern Ireland Women’s 4 x 400 metres relay team. Well done Emily.
