Bristol City Parks Funding Proposal

Bristol City Council has proposed that they will stop funding Bristol’s parks from April 2019, relying instead on revenue generated from parks events and other outside sources.

Bristol Parks Forum believes this is impossible to achieve in such a short timescale and has set up a petition calling on Bristol City Council to withdraw this budget plan and work with the Parks Forum and others to develop a realistic alternative.

As this proposal may impact Bristol & West’s future use of (and cost of using) these key open spaces, you may be interested in this proposal and the petition.  The club is merely drawing them to your attention and leave it to you whether you wish to sign the petition or not.

The petition and the House of Commons report mentioned in it (which provides useful evidence to help form an opinion) can be found at:

The closing date to sign the petition is 31 October.
