City of Bristol Orienteering Races – 10th and 11th June 2017

Bristol Orienteering Klub (BOK) welcomes you to The City of Bristol Races on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June 2017. The City of Bristol Races are their premier event of the year and incorporate the popular BOK Blast weekend. BOK invites you to enjoy two classic distance races in central Bristol alongside the historic Harbourside and beyond. The range of courses will cater for top international orienteers through to newcomers, who are all equally welcomed.

Newcomers to urban orienteering are especially welcome to enter this prestigious event.

There are three courses designed just for Newcomers – Long, Medium and Short. Completing these respective courses will involve covering approximately 8, 5 or 3 kms. These all involve using the same map as the more competitive courses to find a series of checkpoints in the right order. But the route choices and placement of checkpoints will be easier. Also descriptions of the checkpoint locations will be in English and not technical pictograms. Newcomer’s courses have been designed to take in particularly interesting locations and views.
