The Cotswold Way Relay (103 miles over 10 legs) is held on Saturday 24th June 2017 and we have been ambitious and entered four teams this year. There will be a Ladies, a Men’s and two Mixed teams (minimum of 3 ladies/team) with Tracy Allan, John Rooney, Tom Watkins and Steve Grant taking on the respective Team Manager roles.
The race starts at Chipping Campden in the early morning, through to the raucous arrival at Bath Abbey in the early evening, using the waymarked route of the Cotswold Way as our route. The relay is over 90% off-road, taking in many hills, woodlands, fields and tracks. Each stage starts around the time the first runner from the previous stage is expected to finish.
Details are provided by the Team Bath organisers at http://www.cotswoldwayrelay.
The Ladies and Men’s teams will focus on competitiveness with the Mixed Teams aiming to get as broad a group of runners involved as we can. With 40 slots to fill we hope that there will be room for everyone who is fit and wants to run.
The club is significantly subsidising entry and the cost will be £4.00 per runner to be collected once we confirm who is running.
To register your interest if you haven’t already, can all ladies contact Tracy Allan (firstname.lastname@example.org) and all men John Rooney (email@example.com) by e-mail or Facebook by the 30th April 2017stating any stage preferences.
Tracy and John will let Tom and Steve know who is available and we will be coordinating team selection aiming to satisfy as many stage preferences as we can.
Teams and leg allocations will be announced in early May to allow recce runs to be undertaken.
