There is a brief round-up of each age group below following the fourth race at Glebelands on Sunday 12th February 2017 with just the fifth and final fixture to come at Pembrey Sands, Llanelli on Sunday 4th March 2017.
Jay HUNT led the team home in twelfth place (5:29) and was followed home by Ishmael BRADLEY in twentieth (5:37), Josh LEWIS (5:41) and Fred CUMMINS in twenty-ninth (5:44). Ronnie WILMOTT led the ‘B’ Team home in forty-fourth place in 5:59 with Harry CONSTABLE in sixty-fifth in 6:21, Rio DUTTON in seventieth place in 6:27 and Alex ROBERTSON in eighty-first place (6:34) giving us a full scoring ‘B’ team. There were 107 finishers and the times of our finishers show just how competitive a race it was. Overall the ‘A’ team are now fifth on 1,195 points with the ‘B’ team twenty-third overall but third ‘B’ Team on 441 points.
There are no times on the official results but Rufus THOMAS led the team home in second place with Aidan OSCROFT in tenth, Cole EDMONDS in twelfth and Joe MEAD in thirteenth showing how close this team performs to one-another. Jay AKBAR led the ‘B’ team home in nineteenth place; well supported by Joe HULL (23rd), Amos KINGSTON (36th) and Henry GODFREE (45th). The ‘A’ Team are now second overall but seem unlikely to be able to close the gap on Brecon, nevertheless a solid performance in the last race should see them consolidate their second position. The ‘B’ Team are tenth and first ‘B’ team in front of Bridgend ‘B’ and the ‘C’ team are thirtieth overall and first ‘C’ team. Jay AKBAR is best placed individual overall in ninth place with 202 points.
There were 43 finishers in this age group with Luke ILES leading our contingent home in fifteenth place in 10:49, Fred HAWKER finished seventeenth in 10:54, Lewis ADAMSON was twenty-first in 11:11 and Robert KEIKUTH completed the ‘A’ team in thirty-first place in 11:39. Flynn BAKER (36th in11:50) and James CASLING (38th in 11:54) scored ‘B’ team points. The ‘A’ team have closed to within a point of North Somerset and are now sixth overall with a total of 522 points with the ‘B’ team in thirteenth place on 105 points as the first ‘B’ Team.
Only twenty under-17 men competed at Glebelands with none from Bristol & West.
There were seventy-two starters and it is a while (if ever) since we have reported a Bristol & West One-two in this age group with Clementine HOULDEN the winner in 5:29 and Molly THOMAS runner-up in 5:33. The Team are now seventeenth overall on 337 points.
Alice BRIDGER MORALES was our first finisher in Newport where she finished seventh in 10:18; this finish leaves her in third place overall on 270 points just seven points behind Amelia Honor of Westbury Harriers. Danni SINCLAIR finished fourteenth in 10:49 and now stands seventh overall. Grace ASHURST (20th in 11:11) and Carmen CHANCE (22nd in 11:14) completed the ‘A’ Team which lies second overall behind Westbury Harriers. The ‘B’ Team was led home by Jemima DUTTON (25th in 11:20), with Julie HOFFMAN also scoring ‘B’ team points in thirty-fourth place in 11:47.
Claudia SPICE was the club’s first finisher in the fourth race of the season in thirteenth place in 18:37. Elle RADFORD finished twenty-ninth in 20:53, with Grace EVANS forty-third in 22:26 and Matilda JONES forty-seventh in 23:00 completing the ‘A’ team. Overall the team is in ninth position on 419 points.
Alice DAVIES and Olivia BURTON finished in third and fourth places in 17:52 and 17:55 and were well supported by Lauren ASHURST (eleventh in 18:33) and Lizzie PLEWS (twelfth in 18:36). Alice on 116 points and Olivia on 115 points are first and second in the overall standings and overall the team is second with 355 points just 9 points behind Cardiff AC – so all to play for in the final match of the season.
