Blaise Gwent League – Saturday 3rd December 2016 – Under-13 and Under-15 Girls

13 Dec

Race 3 of 5 was on home soil and Bristol and West girls continue to grow and develop as a team. With the addition of Alan Thomas’ girls this season we have seen the formation of a team with strength in depth. I am confident these girls will continue to improve and develop throughout the season. We are still working on recruiting a few more for the Novices.

Under-15 Girls. This was the first race and we had eight girls starting. With around 65 in this field our girls all held strong mid-pack positions with Elle Radford in thirty-fourth, Josie Davis in thirty-fifth, Caoimhe Fullerton in thirty-eighth and Niamh Fullerton in thirty-ninth (both Fullertons first outing for B&W). Grace Evans finished forty-fifth and Anya Wheatley in forty-sixth place. Sadly Molly Orchard and Matilda Jones did not finish, otherwise that would have been two teams! All finishing girls ran well and continue to make steady progress. Currently the team is in eighth position, however this may change a little as I am sure some of the results were entered incorrectly.

8  BRISTOL & WEST                            134    269

Under-13 Girls.  These girls are shaping up well for an interesting last two races with medals up for grabs. Six girls started and finished with Alice Bridger-Morales in seventh place, Danni Sinclair in tenth, Olivia Hussey in fourteenth and Grace Claridge in twenty-ninth ensuring another strong team performance. Carmen Chance Munoz finished thirty-second and Jemima Dutton forty-third with both running and developing well.

We have three individuals not a million miles away from the top 3. Team-wise we are currently in second place, well clear of Newport in third place but surely too big a gap to catch Westbury for Gold?…
