The Weston Prom Run series has completed 2 out of the 9 races (September to May) and five Bristol & West teams have been entered. We have 2 Ladies teams: the A Team comprises of Julia Belyavin, Tracy Allan, Jane Colman, Marianne Britten, Fleur Cockley and Alison Engledew, whilst the B Team is captained by Maggie Salter and supported by Isie Bates, Martha Wheeler, Karen Watson, Sheila Wilcox and Michelle Edgell
A single team has been entered for the Senior Men’s category and contains Andy Cooke, Daryl Phillips, Mark Burley, Timothy White and John Rooney with Jon Goodland on loan from the Vets to give a complete team and the added sparkle of experience.
We have two teams in the Men’s vet category (40 upwards) with the whippets being led by David Engledew accompanied by regular top 10 finisher Matt Robinson, Pete Clark, Gordon Everett making his debut as a vet, Chris Harvey and Alan Wilcox. The collies team brings wit and personality to the affair with Chris Lewis, Rob Coleman, Brendon Wilson, Tom Burgess, Steve Grant and the club Chair Roger Brocklesby.
No team results have been published yet and historically they are released every 3rd race or so.
For those unfamiliar with the race, it is a very well organised and low key 5 mile pancake flat event with varying weather conditions. The race is followed by an optional curry at the local Wetherspoons along with the great and good of other runners from the surrounding clubs.
