Luke Evans wound up the Yeovil 5k summer series with an emphatic victory. The Bristol & West runner had hoped for a sub-15 minute run on the super fast course, especially as conditions were very good but unfortunately Evans had little opposition.
Luke dominated the race on Wednesday evening to win in 15 minutes 32 seconds and while Taunton AC’s veteran James Watson was only three seconds behind he never looked like challenging the winner.
“Almost every race this summer has been won under 15 minutes and we went to the final one hoping there would be a good field to push Luke on to a fast time but it didn’t happen which was very disappointing,” said his coach Mike Down.
The Club pair of Mark Edwards (16:11) and Josh Moody (16:18) who train as part of Keith Brackstone’s senior endurance group finished fourth and fifth respectively.
