Both Bristol & West Quadkids teams ended the day at the top of the league on Sunday 21st August 2016 at Yate . The girls team, with the best points score of the season, finished 41 points ahead of the Forest of Dean team. The star performer was Emma LOVELL who did not win any of the four events but consistently performed very well in each to rack up an impressive total score. Emma finished equal first in the competition with 207 points. It was a similar story for Alice MATHEWS who again performed very well across the events finishing with 203 points, the fifth highest score of the day. These two were well supported by Tamara JACSKON and Dolshayee BENNET who accumulated points of 196 and 185 respectively. The Girls team are now equal first with Yate & District and with only 1 match left on 11th September 2016.
The boys consolidated their position at the top of the league. Marcel WELISANE competing for the club for the first time was very impressive finishing second overall. He was the fastest sprinter over 75 metres , delivered the second furthest Vortex throw and was third overall in the long jump and 600 metres . This is all the more remarkable given that he can still compete in Quad kids next year!! Ellis LONGFORD and Ciaran HERNIMAN finished third and forth respectively. Ellis was the only jumper over 2 metres in the standing long jump and Ciaran was second fastest in the 600 metres. Finally special mention must go out to Will WHITEFORD on his Quadkids debut and Maxwell JACKSON the non scoring reserve.
The final Quadkids event will be held on Sunday 11th September 2016 at Yate when we hope to see the teams take their respective titles.
