Manchester International – Wednesday 17th August 2016

Four club members of the club took part in the Inaugural Manchester International Meeting on Wednesday 17th August 2016 which involved England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, a GB Under 20 team, the UK Armed Forces and representatives from the British Athletics League and UK Women’s League.

In her England debut Charlotte GREEN finished winner of the 2,000 metres steeplechase in 6:36.03 which is just outside her personal best of 6:35.60 and ranks her third in the UK this summer. Another club winner was Lucy BRYAN in the women’s pole vault. Lucy was competing for the UK Women’s League representative team and her best clearance of 4 metres 20 centimetres saw her just 5 centimetres shy of her seasons best of 4 metres 25 centimetres set at Manchester 10 days ago.

Kate HULLS was also representing the UK Women’s League team and finished third in the 3,000 metres in 9:18.84 which was just outside her personal best of 9:17.91 set at Lea Valley on 3rd July 2016.

Bethan WAKEFIELD was also there and clocked 12.21 finishing third in one of the guest 100 metres races.

Well  done ladies – all finishing off the track season on a high note.
