It was a great weekend for the two Bristol & West athletes who travelled up to Nuneaton for the Midland age group championships there.
On Saturday Jess FRAZER followed up her 200 metres PB of 25.87 at the South West Inter Counties in Exeter the previous weekend with a 25.96 to win the Under-15 Girls 200 metres. Jess also ran the same time in the heat which shows that with the right level of competition she can consistently churn out fast times. This bodes well for her favoured 300m next season.
Tia JACKSON who ran PBs of 12.54 and 25.24 in Exeter the previous weekend travelled up on Sunday for the 100 metres and came away with the gold, running into a slight headwind (-0.3) and with relatively little competition. Her 12.58 would have been significantly faster with a better start and conditions. After a great season in the Long Jump pit and the longer sprint, Tia is hoping to hit her target of a sub 12.4 100 metres at the end of the month in Bedford, at the National age group championships.
