The club is saying farewell to Rich Gwyn who has been the Club’s Young Athlete Development Adviser since the role was created back in February 2015: Rich is leaving us to work on Australia’s Gold Coast in a role related to the Commonwealth Games 2018 – we all wish him well and thank him for all his hard work over the past 18 months.
The Club Committee was keen to appoint someone in Rich’s place to maintain the momentum that he has generated in terms of training and competition for young athletes at the Club. Jon Jackson was approached and the club is delighted that he will act – as Rich did – in a paid consultancy role to support coaches and team managers working with young athletes to ensure that the club progresses in this area.
If you have any questions regarding young athlete development please direct them towards the athlete’s individual coach in the first instance and then on to Jon should you need further help.
Keith Brackstone is continuing in his role as Development Adviser for the Club specialising in adult competitiors.
