Rob Bugden Making Steady Progress

Six months after his serious parachute accident and three months into his rehab international endurance runner and club member Rob Bugden is making good progress and is now mobile in a wheelchair and is slowly regaining some movement in his fingers (having initially been without movement from the chest down). After such an horrific accident it is very early in the recovery process but Rob remans optimistic and as they say time is a great healer. Club Development Adviser Keith Brackstone met Rob in Stoke Mandeville Hospital on Wednesday 20th July 2016 and Rob was his usual cheerful self. (Keith had to track him down as the nursing staff didn’t know where he had gone!) Rob admitted that he occasionally slips out for a pint and something to eat at the local pub but this time he was on his way back from the Hospital Cafe!

Rob is really pleased at the support he is getting from family and freinds who have dropped in regularly. He anticipates being moved to the Joint Services Rehabilitation Facility at Headley Court in September and will happily receive visitors at Stoke Mandeville Hospital until his move. He is on St. David’s Ward and the hospital address is Mandeville Rd, Aylesbury HP21 8AL – you can call the ward on 01296-315804. So if you can’t visit please drop him a line or give him a call.
