The fourth and final Pomphrey Sports 5k race of the 2014 Summer Series is to be held on Tuesday 24th June 2014 with registration from 6.30pm and the race starting at 7.30pm. Please let Chris Elson or Roger Brocklesby know if you are able to help. The race on the 24th June 2014 includes the Avon AA mob match which is also part of the club endurance championships.
Many of you who are regulars will be aware of the new development being constructed just off the course at the Rosary Roundabout, on the opposite side of the A4174 to the Emersons Green Sainsbury’s. In view of the temporary nature of the traffic management at this point, we will require a couple of additional marshals to point out the route to the runners. Please let Chris or Roger know if you know of anyone who would be willing to assist.
As some of you may be aware, this will probably be the last race at Pomphrey Hill as a result of being unable to maintain a traffic-fee course due the construction works at the Rosary Roundabout. We are almost certain that the race will be moving to a new location at Aztec West. It will still be 5k in length and we are intending to have a Winter and Summer Series along a similar format. We will still require volunteers and we look forward to your continuing support. Thanks for all your help at Pomphrey Hill and its predecessor at the Bridge Inn.
We are planning to have a trial/dress rehearsal in on Tuesday 19th August 2014 for club members only, with the first race of the winter series taking place on Tuesday 30th September 2014. Again if you are prepared to help please let Chris Elson or Roger Brocklesby know.
