For the second successive week, there were 311 runners at Ashton Court. Unusually, after a recent dearth, there were seven PBs. The benign conditions probably assisted those who achieved these excellent times.
Those who ran the PBs were Rebecca Colquhoun, Wendy Burgess, Eleanor Duvivier, Latife Comlek, Paolo Baesso and the husband and wife team of Rob and Jane Colman. The Colmans emulated the performance of the Wilcox’s two weeks ago.
This obviously makes selecting the Performance of the Week that much more difficult, however this week the winner is Becci Colquhoun who was running her 89th parkrun. This was Becci’s first PB since November 2012.
Age Grade first positions were recorded by Stuart O’Connell, Alan Wilcox, Jane Colman, Henrietta Anstey, Tanya Chowdhury, Jennifer Owsley and Otto Kingston. It was also good to see Alison Engledew back on the hill after a long injury lay off.
Matthew Krelle led the field home at Little Stoke and Maciej Bialogonski was second. Jonathan Bennett achieved the only PB at Little Stoke.
Bristol and West seems to be a dominant force in the VW45-49 Age Grade. Sarah Everitt, Sabrina Patten, Karen Owen and Karen Watson occupied the first four places at Little Stoke. Jane Colman, Latife Comlek, Christine Burren and Emma Withers were in four of the top five places at Ashton Court.
The club’s quickest parkrunner was Will Russell who had a time of 16:38 at Shrewsbury.
Chris Elson had a notable parkrun debut at Little Stoke, leading home Alan Groves in the VM70-74 Age Grade.
Finally, apologies to Stuart O’Connell whose achievement in being awarded the Junior parkrunner of the Year 2014 award at Ashton Court was omitted from last week’s initial report.
