Bristol Young Heroes Award – 2014 – Nominations Sought

05 Feb

Hi Bristol & West Athletics Club,

We are writing with regard to a very significant Bristol project, which we believe could benefit the pupils at your school.  The project is called the Bristol Young Heroes Awards and it is gaining some real momentum.  This is the first of what we expect will become an annual event and we already have some prolific VIP’s onboard including The Lord Mayor Cllr Faruk Choudhury, Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens, MPs Kerry McCarthy, Charlotte Leslie, Stephen Williams and Mayoral Candidate Marvin Rees.

We are looking for nominations from our local schools, colleges and communities and this is where we would like your help.  Please can you publicise the event in your school and encourage your staff to nominate inspirational young people who deserve some recognition?  There will be extensive press coverage of the event and so a winner from your school would be great publicity for you. One of the Awards is the Sporting Achievement Award and I wondered if you had any young people you thought would be a good candidate?

Nominations are entered online at and the whole process is very simple. The closing date for nominations is THIS SATURDAY 8th  February 2014.

The awards ceremony including gala dinner will take place at The Grand, Thistle Hotel Bristol on Friday 28th March 2014.  We will be inviting three nominees from each of the ten categories to attend the event as honoured guests with a parent or guardian, with the winner from each being announced on the night.  Tickets to attend the event will also be available to buy online.

Further details are available on our website, however if you need any further information please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
