One interesting observation from the Senior Women’s recent success in the South-West cross-country was that three members of the victorious women’s team were mums with Lucy MacAlister (winner) and Annabel Granger (third) both mothers of two children while Jessie Sanzo (fourth) is the mother of three girls. Who says having children puts a stop to your interests in life. Mind you it does help when the Team Manager is prepared to act as child minder for the duration of your warm up, race and cool down. Apparently it stopped Keith from dashing around shouting encouragement as he normally would have but reports are that he was no less tired come the end of the afternoon and Angus Granger saw to it that he was at least as muddy as the runners!
