As we are now getting towards the end of 2013 it is time to bring the wraps off the new championship details for 2014. The PDF at http://www.bristolandwestac.org/downloads/club-endurance-championships/ outlines the events for next year. There are a few changes, including a change to the scoring system and some new events. There are now a total of 14 events included – of which your best 8 will count towards your championship score. There is also now a more even balance of cross-country and road racing and between the star who competes occasionally and the club runner who runs regularly.
Have a read, plan your races and then we hope to see you at lots of the events next year.
There is one important point to note regarding the first event, which is the South- West Cross Country Championships at Killerton House near Exeter on Sunday 5th January 2014. The closing date for entries to that event is this coming Sunday (15th December 2013) and you must enter yourself in the first instance so you need to be quick if you plan to enter that race. The observant will spot that this race is also the last race of the 2013 championship (it was scheduled without really realising it would take place in 2014) and it will therefore count towards both events so that we get it in the right year for the future as it is always held on the first weekend of January.
Have a good Christmas and New Year and then we’ll see some of you in the mud at Killerton Park in January! Further details will be added to the Downloads section of the web-site in the next few days.
