BRITISH AND IRISH MASTERS CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS – CARDIFF SATURDAY 16 NOVEMBER 2013

Phil Parry ran an excellent race to finish second in the Men’s 50 to 54 category at the British and Irish Masters Cross-Country Championships in Cardiff on Saturday 16th November 2013 in 25:57 just seven seconds behind a delighted Chris Harry – who for many years was a team mate of mine in the Royal Air Force Cross-Country Team. Phil also picked up a team gold as England were clear team winners in his age group. Full results are at:  http://www.bmaf.org.uk/results/res2013/xcint2013m50indiv.pdf

Viv McConnell finished 63rd in the Women’s Race in 23:37 but expressed disappointment at finishing in the bronze medal position in the 55 to 59 age category. Carmel Parnell of Ireland won that age group in 32nd place overall in the race in 22:33 with former GB International Jill Harrison running for England the runner-up in 45th place in 23:04. At least Viv had the consolation of being in the England Team which won team gold. Full individual results are at:
