More a Canter than a Slog for Steve and Annabel

The Sodbury Slog held this year on Sunday 10th November 2013 has become something of a tradition for Bristol University and club 1,500 metre specialist had run it a few times before but had never won it. As he thinks 2013 will be his last ever Slog he felt he had some unfinished business which he resolved as he cantered clear to win by 4 minutes in 53.29. In twelfth place and first lady Annabel Granger made it a Bristol & West double as she took the ladies race in 61:41. Between them were Steve Francis – third in 57:48 and former club member Dave Green in fifth place (58:54) running for the University Old Boys. Altogether I counted 23 club runners among the 1,032 finishers and there were some who seemed to be taking a very sociable approach to the event as Paul Burgess, Rich Kennington, Debbie Riddiford and Vanessa Redmond finishes 918, 919, 920 and 921 all in 2:03:16.

But my trawl of the results revealed the following (sorry if I have missed anyone – Matt Payne has already been in contact he was 668th in 1:44:47). The Engledew’s have me a bit confused as the results show Alison finishing in the Male Vet 50 category?
