Bristol and West Athletes Perform Well at Oldbury Power Station 10

Bristol and West had a good turn out on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning on 29th September 2013 for the flat but slightly breezy Oldbury 10 mile. However the wind didn’t seem to slow many of the runners down. Bristol and West men romped home with the team prize. First five to count were Andy Cooke in second place – as always right up there, Andy Malloy in sixth place and Chris Harvey in twelfth – both going from strength to strength with Andy going off faster than normal to chase down our Jessie Sanzo . Next up was Greg Chance who did very well after a few late night drinks. Peter Mountain tried to chase him down at the end, helped by a battle with Westbury Harriers Julian Bailey Guard. The ladies team as you can guess were led home by Jessie who achieved a PB by over 2 minutes, however the ladies were not out in numbers and so were pipped by Chepstow Harriers for the Ladies team prize. Put the race in your diary next year ladies. Individual prizes and Avon Championship medals were in abundance. Andy Malloy first MV40, Jess Sanzo first Senior Lady, Pete Mountain first V55, Sarah Everett second LV 45, Tom Burgess first MV60 and Alan Graves taking home an Avon Championship MV70 medal. Well done Alan. Good runs were also had by regulars Garry Jennings 3rd MV55 and by Graham Grout and Marie Lakin.
