Adam Wall was star of the show from a Bristol & West perspective at the final match of the Avon Track and Field League at Yate Outdoor Sports Centre on Sunday 8th September 2013 when he cleared 1 metre 97 centimetres to take the League record. A league record was also established by the under-15 girls in the 4 x 100 metre relay with Kinnie Songu, Ella Falk, Isabella Parselle and Sam Barrett the victorious quartet in 52.4. Other notable performances were registered by Sarah Everitt who overcame pre-race nerves to win the 3,000 metres in 10:58.8 in the closest of finishes where a finely judged sprint for the line also took her PB under 11 minutes. Cue one very happy lady. Behind Claire Jolliffe also recorded a PB as she finished third in 11.28.1.
Alex Yfimcev won the under-11 ball throw with 49 metres 34 centimetres and featured as a member of the winning under-11 boy’s 4 x 50 metre relay team (30.9). The under-11 girls repeated the feat in a time of 32.3.
Kurt Cameron won the under-15 javelin with a personal best throw of 33 metres 60 centimetres. There were other successes in the field with Catherine Clayton winning the under-15 girl’s discus with 22 metres and 69 centimetres. Matt Spicer won the Men’s hammer with a throw of 44 metres and 37 centimetres.
Father and son duo Dave and Sam Bedwell saw Dave win the Veterans 3,000 metres in 10 minutes 27.8 seconds with son Sam second in the Men’s 400 metres in 53.6.
