Earlier this year England Athletics carried out a major consultation focusing on Affiliation and Governance which included 10 events as well as an online survey. As a result of the findings the Board of England Athletics has made a number of decisions, including relating to the 2014/15 affiliation year, which they believe club members should be aware of.
The second piece of information relates to one of their goals as an organisation – to get more people taking part in Athletics more often… and they need your help to do that!
As part of their on-going work to increase the number of people regularly taking part in athletics they are teaming up with other providers of running opportunities across England to gain a broader understanding of why people run, why they don’t run and what motivates them to start running, continue to run or stop running.
They would love hear from those of you whose involvement in athletics includes running to hear about what running means to you, whether you run every day, have never run or are forever trying to get back into it… They have worked with a number of partners across the industry to design a simple survey which they would really appreciate if you could take 10 minutes to complete. Whether or not you yourself run please also feel free to share details of this survey with anyone else who you think could contribute views that help us understand the running section of the athletics community more fully and help England Athletics as they work to grow athletics in England.
In return for completing the survey, you’ll automatically be entered into a fantastic prize draw to win a selection of great prizes, including the first prize of a £100 Sweatshop voucher, plus runner up prizes of Sunwise eyewear and official England Athletics merchandise.
