There were some good individual performances at the Avon Track & Field League held at Yate Outdoor Sports Centre on Sunday 4th August 2013.
In the under-11 Boy’s 75 metres the club finished four in the first six with newcomer Jack DONOGHUE and Nathaniel WILLIAMS first equal in 11 seconds followed by Alex YFIMCEV in fourth place (11.1) and Guy MCEWAN sixth in 11.4. It was therefore no surprise when the same quartet won the 4 x 50 metre boy’s relay. Alex won the long jump with a jump of 3 metres 67 centimetres.
The best result in the under-13 boys’ age group was a third place in the 4 x 100 metres relay.
At under-15 Aaron BANFIELD won the 200 metres in 25.4 and also finished fourth equal in the 100 metres in 12.2. Ben TULLOCH ran the same double finishing fourth equal with Aaron in the 100 metres (12.2) and third in the 200 metres in 26.5. Harry LEEMING maintained his recent good form with a win in the 800 metres – clocking 2:12.9. Kieron DUNKLEY was another to show good form winning the 3,000 metres in 10:16.8. In the field Jordan BEASLEY took the honours in the Pole Vault with a clearance at 2 metres 52 centimetres beating Jonny SHINE into second place on count back.
In the under-17 age group the sole winner was Corey HAYNES who took the 800 metres in 2:09.2.
The senior men’s age group saw wins for Luke BAILEY with a clearance at 4 metres and 4 centimetres in the Pole Vault, Jerry HOGAN in the 3,000 metres in 10:28.1 and the 4 x 400 metre relay team in 3:44.6.
The under-11 Girls almost matched the boys finishing four athletes in the first seven in the 75 metres sprint. Anais TAYLOR and Tenisha SMALL were given first equal in 11.3. Ella GOODMAN finished third in 11.5 and Xea AXTON was seventh in 12.1. The girls then enjoyed a first and second in the 4 x 50 metre relay.
In the under-13 girls Tia JACKSON won the 70 metre hurdles in 12.20; Tia also finished third in the 100 metres in 14.3 and high jumped 1 metre 5 centimetres before helping the 4 x 100 metre relay team to second in 61.70. Isobel HARRIS (12th in the 100 in 15.02 and second in the high jump with 1 metre 20 centimetres), Jessica FRAZER (fourth in the 100 in 14.6, third in the 200 metres in 30.4 and ninth in the Javelin with 10 metres 99 centimetres) and Imogen SHARMAN (ninth equal in the 100 in 15.1, eleventh equal in the 200 metres in 32.7 and third in the high jump with a clearance at 1 metre 15 centimetres) were all busy in this age group and together with Tia made up the relay team.
In the under-15 girls Isabella Parselle won the 300 metres in 45.4 and also took fifth place in the 100 metres in 13.3. Nicola FORTUNE finished second in the 75 metre hurdles in 13.2 and also cleared 1 metre 20 centimetres to finish ninth in the high jump.
In the under-17 Ladies age group Anicia SKEATES won the 80 metre hurdles in 12.4 as well as finishing third in the 100 metres in 12.8. Rownita MARSTON was also a winner in this age group taking the Hammer with a throw of 19 metres and 66 centimetres. Rownita also finished third in the Javelin with 17 metres 59 centimetres. Sam BARRETT, Nicola FORTUNE, Isabella Parselle and Natasha JONES combined to win the 4 x 100 metre relay in 53.8.
In the Senior Women Amelia HEMPLEMAN-ADAMS won the High Jump with a clearance at 1 metre 65 centimetres and in the Veteran Ladies Caroline POWELL won the 100 metres in 14.2
