Club Wins Tow Path Mob Match for Third Year in a Row

Bristol & West AC pulled off a hat trick in the Avon Athletic Association 10K mob match held on Friday 19th July 2013 with a record number of 51 members representing the club. It was fortunate that so many club members turned out as there was a big field with 281 finishers and 35 to count for the team. The club had 9 runners home in the first 12 a sight to gladden the heart of the Team Manager – Chris Elson – and the tide of club colours swept to the fore with Andy Cooke first home and Jessie Sanzo first lady in eighth position over all. (Her 36:06 eclipsing her 36:16 PB from the Bristol 10k and that on an off-road course!) It was a sweltering night with temperatures as high as 32C so fast times were difficult to achieve. Comparison with the previous two year results revealed how many members had improved over the time. Thanks to Chris Burren and Sebastian for helping at the finish.

The Team results were:

1. Bristol and West 1,657

2. Southville RC 3,553
3. Bitton Road Runners 4,347
4. Westbury Harriers 5,779
5. GWR 6,628
6. Clevedon AC 6,643
7. Nailsea RC 6,918
8. Portishead RC 7,745
9. Hogweed Trotters 8,980
