Antony Stanley-Clarke will provide a strength and conditioning session for a group of up to 10 people for 6 weeks or provisionally until the end of August for approximately 1 hour starting at 6:15 on Tuesdays (starting today 16th July 2013). The session will focus on core strength, stabilisation and flexibility. Sessions will include isometric bodyweight exercises. Dependent on age and development, plyometric work will be added as the weeks go on. A measure of the athlete’s strength in various activities (length of hold, distance jumped & thrown) will be made at the start and end of the six weeks, which will provide a useful feedback for the athletes and coach. Depending on the dynamics of the group, some scope for specialist work for particular events may be possible.
