One Point Enough to Maintain 100% Success In British Athletics League

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to another winning performance at our third BAL match at Kingston yesterday. A full set of provisional results are on the web-site and they speak for themselves. While the track events gave us a great advantage, the field events were significantly improved with some creative teamwork and some new faces in new events.

There were some outstanding individual results but above all it was another great all-round team effort. All the multi-eventing paid off, enabling us to win by the narrowest of margins – just one point. Never has the phrase ‘every point counts’ been so true.

We now go into the final match at home on August 3rd with a three point lead in the league standings over our nearest rival Kingston & Polytechnic. We will be defending our 100% record in Division 3 as the only team in the BAL to have won every match this season. Our promotion to Division 2 looks probable as long as we approach the final match with the same commitment we have shown in the first three fixtures. We could also be Divisional champions for the second consecutive year.

Very well done guys. Let’s keep the winning habit going at Kip Keino on August 3.
