Friday 5th July saw at least eight club athletes in action at the English Schools but so far only results for seven of them have found their way to Power of 10 (the results aren’t on ESSA.Net yet).
Yemma SONGU finished fifth in Heat 1of the Intermediate Girl’s 100 metres in 12.8
In the 200 metres Chris STONE qualified for the final of the Senior Boy’s age group winning heat 4 in 21.61. In the Junior Girl’s 200 metres Ella FALK clocked 25.56 for a PB when finishing second and also progressed to the final.
At 400 metres Freddie OWSLEY won his heat recording a PB of 49.31 to qualify for the final. Molly LONG (representing Cornwall Schools) won her heat of the Intermediate Girl’s 800 metres in 2:18.25 (obviously saving a lot for the final given her PB of 2:06.3).
Harry LEEMING ran 4:26.99 (which was close to his PB of 4:24.12) but found it only good enough for thirteenth place in the Junior Boy’s 1,500 metres Heat 2.
Similarly, Anicia SKEATES found the Intermediate Girl’s 300 metre hurdles tough finishing seventh in 47:81, just over a second off her PB.
At the time of this report these are the only results available and the club web-site will be updated as soon as further results find there way to the English Schools or Power of 10 web-sites.
Well done to all the club athletes taking part: without fail they ran PBs or close to their PB – always a tough thing to do straight after an exam period. Results for Day One can be found at http://www.thepowerof10.info/results/results.aspx?meetingid=77825&pagenum=4
