Ashton Court Parkrun 4th May 2013
With the Bristol 10k the following day, Ashton Court was a bit of a ghost town on Saturday with only 102 runners of which seven were from Bristol & West. There were also seven volunteers from the club. The highlight for the club was Neil Light’s second place. However, the majority of those that did run were obviously taking it easy before Sunday.
Alison Engledew showed that she is the master tactician in her bid to succeed Emma Withers as the winner of the Women’s Points table. Despite taking it fairly easy, she still finished as the 8th lady and so earned herself ninety-three points for her efforts.
As there were no PBs, the Performance of the Week is, for the first time, awarded to a non-member. On his comeback to running a parkrun after an absence of over eighteen months, the title goes to Geoff Keogh the Ashton Court Race Director, in recognition of his efforts and achievements over the last two years.
