Bristol & West athletes were out in numbers at the Pensford 10k, which has a reputation for being one of the hillier courses in the area. Kieran Young finished second behind elder brother and former club member Nathan in 37:20. However, it was two of our vet35 ladies who stole the limelight with Amy Stiles Chalk taking the First Lady award in fifth place in 38:28 with Annabel Granger sixth and second lady in 38:52. Paul Jefferson was next home in seventeenth in 41:18. Gary Jennings was 34th in 43:10 and Chris Harvey was 43rd in 44:41. Graham Grout was tenth V50 in 63rd place in 46:52 and Alison Engledew finished first lady V50 in 48:17. Roger Brocklesby and Karen Watson were 152nd and 154th respectively and Marie Larkin (186 in 58:14) and Paul Burgess (189 in 58:51) both made the top 200. Debbie Riddiford was 216th (63:26), Vanessa Redmond was 224th (66:26) and Richard Kenington was 229th in 72:38. Martin Riddiford brought the club home in 230th in 72:38 on a very tough course where he will have found the hills very challenging. Well done to all of you – especially those who had run the Ashton Court Parkrun the day before!
