Ashton Court Parkrun – Saturday 5th January 2013

There was a bumper attendance at Ashton Court today for the first parkrun of 2013. It wasn’t a record but was over the 200 mark.

There was also a good turnout from Bristol & West including a few new faces obviously intent on getting their New Year’s Resolutions underway at the earliest opportunity. A total of 37 club members ran and 12 got PBs.

There were several outstanding performances, particularly among the regulars; when it gets that much harder to keep on improving. Paul Burgess achieved his first PB since April 2012 and Rikki Porter, Henrietta Anstey and Alison Engledew all made further improvements. The Performance of the Week goes to Tracy Allen who not only achieved a PB but had an Age Grading of 80.99% which put her into the top five of the Age Grade table at Ashton Court.

Congratulations to Paul Jefferson on gaining the coveted red tee shirt having completed his 50th parkrun.

This was also the first race to count towards the recently introduced Club endurance running championship. It is your best run at an Ashton Court parkrun that will count, so still 51 more opportunities to take part this year and improve your time.
