Ashton Court Parkrun – Saturday 17th November 2012

Bristol and West’s answer to the Politburo was out in force this morning with Chris Elson being joined by Cy Knibb and Keith Brackstone as interested spectators. The sun always shines on the righteous, so predictably it was a perfect morning for running at Ashton Court, albeit a little damp underfoot on the plateau.

Once again PBs were at a premium but two runners were successful. Abbie Salter has now cracked the many idiosyncrasies of the course and knocked a massive 64 seconds off last week’s PB and wins the Performance of the Week for the second week running. Andrew Malloy marked his last run in the SM35-39 age category with 5 seconds off his previous best time.

Pete Woodward and Julie Belyavin did the double for Bristol and West by finishing first in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.

Meanwhile on the green baize at Little Stoke, Phil Parry was the first male in a course record of 16:51.

How about 1st lady and 1st gent at both Ashton Court and Little Stoke on the same Saturday as a target?

It was also an excellent turnout with at least 31 runners turning out a six Parkruns; and not forgetting the four volunteers at Ashton Court. To all those on the tourist trail, please email in with your result. roger.brocklesby@btopenworld.com   It takes a long time to open up the results of 180+ parkruns!
