A 16:05 third place (and easily first lady) over 5k on the road at Yeovilton last Wednesday marked Kate Reed’s return to racing in the UK. As well as placing her third in the race (which was won by club under-20 athlete Kieran Young in 16:03) the time took Kate straight in at number 3 in the UK Women’s 5k road rankings for 2012 on Power-of-10. So no surprise that she has already had an England call up and will be racing the Swansea 10k for England this Sunday (23rd September 2012). After a couple of 34 minute 10ks in America in May 2012 we are sure Kate will be looking for something faster than 34 minutes – it will be interesting to see where the clock stops on Sunday.
