On a fresh but dry Sunday morning over 200 started the Oldbury Power Station 10 Mile Road Race on 16th September 2012. Both Michael Johnson and Jenny Jagger were well clear in their respective races in the first mile with Mike having only the lead push bike for company. Jenny was in the mix with some of the top male runners as she battled for a place in the top ten and was showing no after effects from yesterday’s PB 3k on the track in the UK Women’s League Promotion Match. Between them Andy Cooke was looking comfortable in sixth place. A surprise addition to the Bristol & West presence was former international Heidi North (Moulder) using the race as part of her build up for the Stroud Half-Marathon (a build-up which will see her run the Midland Road Relays next weekend). Behind Heidi there was great representation from Chris and Keith’s Monday night group as Colin Traer, Peter Mountain, Gary Jennings, Alison Engledew, Becci Colquhoun and Emma Withers all put in sterling performances with detailed results as follows:
Bristol & West won the men team race (4 to count) by a vast margin and it looks as if the ladies (3 to count) did too. First and 2nd M55 to boot.
