Ashton Court Parkrun – Saturday 25th August 2012

Conditions were perfect at Ashton Court on Saturday morning; not too warm and no wind to speak of.

Unfortunately fifteen of Bristol and West’s finest could not manage a PB between them. This was despite the presence of both Chris Elson and Keith Brackstone positioned at strategic points on the course, and offering support and encouragement. Andrew Malloy obviously made the right decision to volunteer for marshalling duties.

This makes the voting panel’s job that bit more difficult. However there was one outstanding candidate for this week’s Performance of the Week. Carron Dower gets the nod for his comeback run after nine weeks off due to injury and still getting 1st place in his age category.

There were three new club members running today:- Andrew Wright, George Salter and Karen Watson.

Jacob Butterly qualified for a red parkrun tee shirt by running his 50th parkrun.

All parkrunners are reminded to make sure that Bristol and West AC is included on their profile on the parkrun website. This makes our statistician’s task much easier when collating the results.

There will definitely be another away day to the Forest of Dean Parkrun on Saturday 22nd September 2012, when the Ashton Court Parkrun is cancelled. Admin details will follow.
