Sixty Year-Old Runner Seeks Support to run 100 miles in a Week

18 Aug

Jeff Plumb is in his sixties and is running 7 x half-marathons over 7 consecutive days to raise funds for ‘The Children’s Hospice South West’. Between 25th November 2012 and 1st December 2012 he plans to run seven half-marathons; on seven consecutive days; across 6 different cities / towns in the South West of England; and The Forest of Dean.

The help he would like from Bristol and West Athletic Club is for somebody to run the Bristol half marathon route (or as close as possible to the route) with him. So far he has had a very positive response from around the South West. He would like to start the Bristol half marathon course on Wednesday 28th November 2012 at 10.00 am.  He will not be collecting a penny personally but has set up a page for doing so on The Children’s Hospice South West Site. If you would like to sponsor him all you have to do is:

You can read about the work of The Children’s Hospice and leave him a message.

Support from a random set of runners across the South West has been amazing. This is going to be a tough ask as Jeff anticipates rough weather; aching limbs (he is in his sixties); but the Hospice does a fantastic job! If you are prepared to help Jeff then please email him at
