Volunteers Required for Avon Track & Field League – Sunday 26th August 2012

19 Jul

Bristol & West Athletic Club are co-hosts of the Avon Track & Field League meeting on Sunday 26th August 2012 at Yate Outdoor Sports Centre and need to provide the following officials:

Track Referee – Pete Davenport

Chief Timekeeper – Mike Strange (Keith Brackstone will also assist throughout the programme as a timekeeper)

Equipment Officer – to support John Deaton who is the field referee. i.e. someone to assist setting out and providing equipment for field events and returning equipment to the store at the end. This task lasts from 11.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A Hurdle Movement Team of four people to set out and adjust hurdles for the 300 metre and 400 metre hurdles races. After the races collect and return the hurdles to the garage store at Yate Outdoor Sports Centre. Time required is from 11.00 a.m. to set out the hurdles for noon and after the race scheduled for 12.15 complete the task. The time demand is 11.00 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the maximum.

The Catering Team needs counter staff to sell hot and cold drinks, filled rolls, confectionary etc.  Hilary Nash and Simonne Lowery will arrange for stock to be purchased and delivered to Yate.  Duration from 11.15 a.m. to 5 p.m. The club keeps the profit on the catering and income – if it is a busy day like last year – this is significant.

Starter’s Markspersons – ideally two people are needed to undertake these duties. The duration is from the first race at noon until the last race (which is scheduled for 5.15 p.m.)

Bitton Road Runners share the hosting and provide an announcer, recorders and a raffle selling team.

If you are available to volunteer for any of the above roles then please contact the Club Development Adviser – Keith Brackstone – by e-mail at keithatrvp@blueyonder.co.uk – your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
