Wesport Still Looking For Olympic Volunteers

15 Jul

There is still a chance to get involved with a ‘once in a life-time’ opportunity and be part of the Bristol celebrations of London 2012!

Wesport are working together with Bristol City Council and the Bristol Kenyan Partnership to recruit volunteers from July through to September, for the following 2 events; Bristol Live Site showcasing Olympic and Paralympic events, and the Kenyan Paralympic training camp.

Bristol Live Site:

Bristol Live Site requires volunteers to help public gatherings enjoy watching a range of Olympic and Paralympic events, live from Millennium Square. The Live Site also gives volunteers a chance to work with sports deliverers to help the ‘come and try’ activity sessions, official London 2012 sponsors such as Cadbury’s and provide marshalling support to make the Bristol Live Site a great experience. Volunteer hours can be used to contribute to any existing young leadership programme, and volunteers will also have the opportunity to sign up to another Olympic legacy programme, Sport Makers.

Bristol Paralympic Training Camp:

Paralympic athletes will be training at South Gloucestershire & Stroud (formerly Filton) College, Bristol, giving volunteers experience working with potential Paralympic gold-medallists! Roles include setting up/down athletic track equipment, providing support to athletes, and marshalling the venue.

If you are interested in any of the above opportunities – Wesport would love to hear from you! Please see the information letter at http://www.bristolandwestac.org/downloads/volunteers/?SSLoginOk=true and return your completed Volunteer Application Form to Hannah Davis, either by post to Wesport, c/o UWE, Coldharbour Lane, Frenchay, Bristol, BS16 1QY or email to Hannah2.Davis@uwe.ac.uk.
