Track & Field Bulletin – 4th July 2012

With all the excitement and jubilation over our magnificent ‘League’ exploits over the past weekend we overlooked some outstanding Multi-Event performances at Exeter in the South West Schools Championships.

In the Senior Boys Decathlon event James TAYLOR came very close to Simon PARLEY’s Club Under-20 record of 5,731 as he won with a magnificent total score of 5,705.   To support this ‘Higher Competition Member’ Harry HALL followed James home in second place with a formidable score of 5,394.

James’ performances were:-100 – 11.56; 400 – 54.58; 110H – 19.01w; 1500 – 5:07.38; PV – 3.60; LJ – 6.14w, HJ – 1.69; JT – 40.71; DT – 40.90; SP – 11.92.

Harry scored:-100 – 12.02; 400 – 54.58; 110H – 16.43w; 1500 – 4:47.15; PV – 2.70; LJ – 5.91w; HJ – 1.90; JT – 36.24; DT – 27.12; SP – 9.62.

Lucas REGAZZO was prominent in the Under-15 Boys category with eighth place, scoring 2,225 points and including a 1.63 High Jump and a 2:17.71 800m.  Cameron THAWS scored 1,501 points to come nineteenth in the same age group.

Ella FALK came twenty-first in the Under-15 girls’ Heptathlon event with a score  of 1,762 points.

Anicia SKEATS who trains with us at Whitehall came an impressive fourth in the Under-17 Heptathlon with 3,910 points.  Anicia I believe had 5 PBs on the day including 26.18 in the 200 metres (which Coach Alastair ABRAMS was well pleased with) and 5.16w Long Jump and 12.41w 80 metre hurdles.
